Neapolitan Inspired Pizza

If you take a look at the website for the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana (The True Neapolitan Pizza Association), you will find an 11-page document outlining every rule and regulation that differentiates true Neapolitan pizza from. . . essentially every other kind of pizza in the world. The sole purpose of the AVPN is to uphold the authenticity and legacy of Neapolitan pizza and the art form that it is.

Because most people don’t have the time, energy, or desire to read through 11 pages of pizza rules, here’s the deal: though we truly respect and admire the traditions that are so strongly upheld within the Neapolitan pizza community, our true passion lies with serving pizzas made with the freshest, most delicious-tasting ingredients around, keeping them locally sourced as much as possible.

So, while tradition may say that you’re only allowed to use San Marzano tomatoes grown in the volcanic ash of Mount Vesuvius, when our herbicide-and-pesticide-free gardens are producing a surplus of fresh herbs and vegetables, we would like to use them along with our own grass-fed beef and chicken.

Our pizzas do reflect the Neapolitan style with thin, hand-stretched, and slightly charred crusts. . . lighter amounts of sauce and toppings to allow for layered, intentional, and nuanced flavor blends. . . and the sights and smells of fresh herbs and a crackling wood fire.

We truly hope you enjoy our take on this timeless classic.

So. . . where does one go to get this totally-not-authentic-but-fantastically-delicious pizza, then?

Well hey, we’re glad you asked. As of right now, we are a purely mobile operation – we have no brick-n-mortar storefront. This is partly because we love to have the freedom to travel to YOU.

It’s also in part to the fact that we (Al & Helen Arends, the owners and operators of this whole operation) learned some very, very expensive lessons at the University of Previous Restaurant Business Experience (the fancier, foodie version of the School of Hard Knocks). If you’re interested in learning more, check out the token Our Story page (if it ever gets here). Until then, come grab a pizza and we can chat.

That does, however, bring us back to the topic of where you can find us and our lil pizza wagon! Well, wonder no longer, the information is directly below this painfully rambly paragraph.

June through October (weather permitting) you can find us on Wednesdays at the Willmar Midweek Market in the east parking lot of the Kandi Mall from 11am-2pm.

Thursday evenings, from 5-8pm, you can find us parked outside of the Foxhole Brewery downtown Willmar. Perfect opportunity to grab some buddies, brewskis, and enjoy some wood-fired pizza together.

This past summer, we were able to be a part of large-scale community events such as Market on the Farm and Rockin’ Robbins. They were a blast and we’d love to do more of them.

If you know of a fun event in your community that could really use a wood-fired pizza vendor, let us know! You can contact us here to get your networking game on!

Wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, anniversary parties, birthday parties, graduations, AND bar mitzvahs, – if you’ve got a party, we’ve got your pizza.

If our pizza has piqued your interest, you can contact us for booking here. Otherwise, continue reading for pricing details and menu selections!

Menu and Pricing

Below is an example of a menu that we would have at a typical community event.
Prices and selections are subject to change, due to the fact that we have a plethora of pizza varieties that we love bring to the table, but also have limited storage space for each event.
We try to keep a few fan favorites each time, while also mixing in new and exciting options for the adventurious (adventurous + curious) pizza lovers out there.
If you are interested in hosting a private event and would like a complete list of your options, feel free to contact us!

Catering Private Events

We typically run private events as an all-you-can-eat buffet and charge a flat rate per person. To give you an idea of the price range, a typical minimum charge for an event would be around $600, or $15 a person.

We do like to be able to work with you, however, so please contact us if you’ve got any questions at all! Once we learn a little bit about the nature of your event, we’ll be able to get you a more accurate quote.

Thanks in advance for considering us for your pizza catering needs!
